PERSONALIZED MIDWIFERY CARE

From your first visit through six weeks postpartum, care is designed around your family, your questions, and your birth goals.

 

PLANNED HOMEBIRTH & SAFETY

Homebirth may be an option for carefully screened, low-risk pregnancies. Eligibility is reassessed throughout pregnancy and labor. Midwife Nadia monitors maternal vital signs, fetal heart tones, labor progress, and your baby’s transition after birth. Essential birth and newborn-resuscitation equipment and medications are brought to your home, and we create a clear consultation and hospital-transfer plan before labor. No birth setting is risk-free. When higher-level care is needed, Midwife Nadia will explain the recommendation and help coordinate your transfer.

 

YOUR APPOINTMENT RHYTHM

• Free homebirth consultation
• Initial prenatal visit and complete health review
• Visits about every 4 weeks through 28 weeks
• Every 2 weeks from 28–36 weeks
• Weekly from 36 weeks until birth
• A 36-week home visit for birth-space, supply, and transfer planning
• Continuous midwifery care through labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period

Most routine prenatal visits take place at the Crown of Glory office in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The 36-week visit, homebirth, and first postpartum visit take place in your home.

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS, INSURANCE & REIMBURSEMENT

Flexible payment plans are available to all clients. Payments are made throughout pregnancy, and all payments are due by 36 weeks. Payment options include PayPal Later, Klarna, HSA or FSA funds when permitted by the issuer, Afterpay, and credit cards. Sliding-scale pricing is available for families experiencing financial challenges. Most insurance plans do not routinely cover planned homebirth or out-of-hospital midwifery care. Coverage varies, and reimbursement cannot be guaranteed. Clients pay according to their signed financial agreement. Upon request, we can provide itemized documentation or a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Alabama Medicaid does not currently reimburse Crown of Glory Birth Services for planned homebirth care.

 

POSTPARTUM CARE

Homebirth families generally receive an in-home visit within 24–72 hours, followed by additional care through six weeks based on clinical needs. Visits may include maternal recovery and emotional-well-being checks, newborn vital signs and weight, feeding and cord assessments, lactation guidance, newborn-screening coordination, and referrals when needed.
