Clear answers. Personalized care. A plan for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. PLANNED HOMEBIRTH & SAFETY Planned homebirth is designed for carefully screened, low-risk pregnancies. A safe plan depends on ongoing prenatal assessment, a qualified midwife, appropriate equipment and medications, and a clear process for consultation or hospital transfer when higher-level care is needed. No birth setting is risk-free. Your eligibility for homebirth is reassessed throughout pregnancy and labor. If a concern develops, Midwife Nadia will explain the recommendation, help you make an informed decision, and coordinate additional or hospital-based care when appropriate. During labor, maternal vital signs, fetal heart tones, labor progress, and the baby’s transition after birth are monitored. Essential birth and newborn-resuscitation supplies are brought to the home, and transfer planning is discussed before labor. YOUR APPOINTMENT SCHEDULE Your care is personalized, so the timing may change based on your health, your baby, and your stage of pregnancy. • Free homebirth consultation • Initial prenatal appointment and complete health review • Prenatal visits approximately every 4 weeks through 28 weeks • Visits approximately every 2 weeks from 28–36 weeks • Weekly visits beginning at 36 weeks until birth • A 36-week home visit to review the birth space, supplies, and transfer plan • Continuous midwifery care during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period Most routine prenatal appointments take place at the Crown of Glory office. Your 36-week visit, homebirth, and first postpartum visit take place in your home. INSURANCE COVERAGE & REIMBURSEMENT Most insurance plans do not routinely cover planned homebirth or out-of-hospital midwifery care. Benefits and reimbursement vary by plan, and Crown of Glory Birth Services cannot guarantee that a claim will be approved. Clients pay according to their signed financial agreement. Upon request, we can provide itemized documentation or a superbill for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Before beginning care, contact your insurer and ask whether services from a licensed midwife and planned homebirth are covered, whether prior authorization is required, and how your deductible applies. HSA or FSA funds may be used when permitted by your card issuer. Alabama Medicaid does not currently reimburse Crown of Glory Birth Services for planned homebirth care. YOUR POSTPARTUM CARE Support continues after your baby is born. Homebirth families generally receive an in-home visit within 24–72 hours, followed by additional postpartum care through six weeks based on clinical needs. Routine later visits take place in the office unless another arrangement is made.
